Admission process in the courses starts during September and October of the year. The main aim of the university is to provide access to (up to graduation level) for the school drop out students or the students who could not continue their studies up to graduation level due to different reasons. The students who could not pass the 10th oe the 12th standard will have to appear the Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) in order to qualify for the final admission in to the degree course. There is two sessions of BPP annually and students above 18 years of age are eligible for admission in the BPP course. This has been a tremendous help to the poor and the backward students of the college and has gone a long way to improve the academic atmosphere of the college. Entry in Service Scheme The Entry in Service Scheme for the SC/ST candidates, financed by the UGC, is also being conducted in Tezpur College. Under the scheme students from the backward communities who want to appear in the All India service examinations can avail free coaching delivered by some experienced teachers.
